Oh, Hi!

Since I have nothing better to do (ahem, or nothing more interesting about my life), I am posting some pictures from our HAWS walk a few weekends ago.

And these aren’t even from the actual walk. This is just the walk to get to the walk.

Do you see us way back there?

Notice how I kind of appear to have those two beasts under control?

Things went downhill shortly thereafter.

I can’t help it. They just like to lead. This is also a picture of what we like to call Max’s “poodle pride”.

He thinks he’s taller. And stronger. And prettier.

And that’s okay.

And finally, look out! Wide load!

Actually, I just wanted to show you the one and only souvenir I picked up on our vacation this year (psst, it’s the t-shirt).

Hey, it was for a good cause. And just look at that sad, sad puppy face.

Yes, I am one of those people.

Indy’s Daily Journal

Indy didn’t have as great a time on vacation as we did.  My brother and sister in law watched him for us.  Apparently staying with 2 adults, 1 baby, 1 small pony (aka their great dane), and 2 evil cats is not Indy’s idea of a vacation.

I know this because my brother Ben kept a daily journal for Indy.  And I have copied it here for your pleasure.

Indy’s Daily Journal

Day 1:  Pooped a musher on kitchen floor.  Somehow got into garbage and pulled it out onto floor.

Day 2: Pooped in kitchen.

Day 3: Tried to hump Ben’s leg.

Day 4:  1:00a.m. – Diarrhea on bedroom wall/trim/carpet.  Jumped on bed (white sheets) with poopy feet.

Day 5: Poops and pukes in kennel – requires full bath.  Nala pukes (from having to smell Indy all afternoon?)  Kitties corner Indy then turn on each other; hair everywhere.  Indy is scared.

Day 6: Kitties make really scary noises at Indy. Several incidents of hissing, barking, chasing.  All parties are equally guilty.

Day 7: Indy has solid poop! Kitties claim downstairs. Dogs are left with upstairs. Indy requires an escort to get to backyard.

Day 9: Ben attempts to workout downstairs with all pets in one room. Ha!

Day 10:  Jetta (kitty) goes outside with Indy and Nala. Indy runs straight for Jetta, then thinks better of it. He’s learning!

Day 11: Ben and Kim arrange to pick up Indy tomorrow morning. Ben calls back an hour later and says the kitties cornered Indy and a major fight ensued.  Indy is shaking.  Stella (kitty) appears to have lost the use of her back legs.  Kim saves Indy from terrible fate.  Stella miraculously recovers.

I can’t make this up people!  Oh, and does this journal remind you of anything?

Life with Maximus

I know, I know. The blogosphere has probably given up on me by now. I don’t have a good excuse. I just haven’t had the time or motivation to write any blog posts.

And our bedroom still isn’t finished. So that’s kind of depressing.

And Matt’s car kicked the bucket. So that’s not fun.

But I have been trying to get some new pictures of Max to show everyone. And I have discovered that Max is not exactly the most photogenic dog in the world.

Case in point.

Is he missing an ear in this picture?

Max got his name from his foster mom. He knows it pretty well so we decided to keep it.

But we really should have named him after a muppet. Or a clown.

I mean, even the snuggie he got for Christmas couldn’t save this picture. Look at those devil eyes!

Even his biggest fan, my niece Molly, couldn’t help him out.

Luckily, I don’t really care about all that. I only care that we adopted this little dog and are giving him a better life (hopefully).

I mean, look at this picture. It was taken by animal control after he was picked up as a stray.

How depressing is that?

Luckily, Max is a part of our family now. And luckily he has Indy to help him out with the cuteness factor.

Happy Holidays!

From our family to yours.

And no, Max is not that gigantic.  He’s only 12 pounds!  He is just not very photogenic.

Don’t you judge him.

I am happy today, because of this.
