I know all 8 of my readers will be sorely disappointed.  And since I see all 8 of you regularly in person (yes, I know who you are – there are stats for that), I’m not really concerned that you won’t know all the intimate details of my life anymore. 

Because you will.  I will just tell them to you in person instead of wasting 3 hours of my life trying to upload one damn picture to the internet.

Blogging is just not for the faint of heart, apparently.  And the faint of heart is me.

So thanks for reading, readers.  It’s been real.

We have been spending a lot of time on the Hog-Dog House lately. Mainly because we had a little mishap involving the water line that connects to our fridge. See, back in April sometime after our cruise, Matt decided to finally install the water line that connects to the ice maker on our new fridge (the old fridge didn’t have this – so he actually had to run a new water line from the basement – not just reconnecting). So Matt went to the store, got the kit that the employees recommended, and hooked ‘er up.

[At this point in the story, Matt would like me to point out that when the Sears guy came to install our water softener a few months ago, Matt asked if he could also install the water line. The guy declined and insisted it was very easy and Matt should just do it himself.]

Can you see where this is going??

Side-note: What is with handymen declining all my job offers? Seriously, guys? I will pay you!

About a month later (so, a few weeks ago), we woke up on a Monday morning to a flooded kitchen, which in turn had seeped through the floor and into the basement, thus flooding the basement as well. 

Fast forward to almost exactly 4 weeks later, and we are still trying to fix the problem.  But, it certainly could have been worse.   So we have that going for us.

Anyway, thanks for staying with me folks.  I will try to keep up.

And these aren’t even from the actual walk. This is just the walk to get to the walk.

Things went downhill shortly thereafter.

I can’t help it. They just like to lead. This is also a picture of what we like to call Max’s “poodle pride”.

He thinks he’s taller. And stronger. And prettier.

And that’s okay.

Actually, I just wanted to show you the one and only souvenir I picked up on our vacation this year (psst, it’s the t-shirt).

Hey, it was for a good cause. And just look at that sad, sad puppy face.

I know this because my brother Ben kept a daily journal for Indy.  And I have copied it here for your pleasure.

Indy’s Daily Journal

Day 1:  Pooped a musher on kitchen floor.  Somehow got into garbage and pulled it out onto floor.

Day 2: Pooped in kitchen.

Day 3: Tried to hump Ben’s leg.

Day 4:  1:00a.m. – Diarrhea on bedroom wall/trim/carpet.  Jumped on bed (white sheets) with poopy feet.

Day 5: Poops and pukes in kennel – requires full bath.  Nala pukes (from having to smell Indy all afternoon?)  Kitties corner Indy then turn on each other; hair everywhere.  Indy is scared.

Day 6: Kitties make really scary noises at Indy. Several incidents of hissing, barking, chasing.  All parties are equally guilty.

Day 7: Indy has solid poop! Kitties claim downstairs. Dogs are left with upstairs. Indy requires an escort to get to backyard.

Day 9: Ben attempts to workout downstairs with all pets in one room. Ha!

Day 10:  Jetta (kitty) goes outside with Indy and Nala. Indy runs straight for Jetta, then thinks better of it. He’s learning!

Day 11: Ben and Kim arrange to pick up Indy tomorrow morning. Ben calls back an hour later and says the kitties cornered Indy and a major fight ensued.  Indy is shaking.  Stella (kitty) appears to have lost the use of her back legs.  Kim saves Indy from terrible fate.  Stella miraculously recovers.

I can’t make this up people!  Oh, and does this journal remind you of anything?

Frankly, wordpress takes forever to upload my pictures so I’m getting a little impatient with blogging. However, because I feel the need to gloat and make you all jealous, I am posting a few little gems from our cruise to the Caribbean.

First up, we stopped at a little island in the Bahamas called Eleuthera. Sounds magical, right? Well, it would have been, except all we saw was the tourist trap portion of the island that is actually owned by Princess Cruises. That’s right, a cruise company actually purchased real estate, and we stopped there. Our day at Eleuthera would have consisted of vegging out on the beach all day (I’m not complaining), but we also booked an excursion for snorkeling. Unfortunately, the snorkeling here was disappointing, to say the least. So if you ever find yourself on the magical island of Eleuthera, try not to pay any extra money and just enjoy the island for what it’s worth. A beautiful beach in the middle of nowhere.

Next up was St. Maarten. The island is divided between two nations, France and the Netherlands Antilles. We were on the Netherlands/dutch side. We spent most of the morning shopping, and we spent the afternoon snorkeling in “shipwreck cove”. And yes, there were actual ships at the bottom of the ocean.

Perhaps my favorite part of the cruise was our visit to Magens Bay in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. Magens Bay was rated one of the top 10 beaches in the world by National Geographic, and now I know why. It was beautiful, and I would go back to St. Thomas in a heartbeat just visit that beach again.

The final island stop was to Grand Turk, capital of the Turks & Caicos islands. This was a rather depressing island, but all the people still seem so cheerful. Again, lovely beaches. Grand Turk used to be famous for salt production, but their economy has since been devastated by large salt companies like Morton. Now around 80% of the islands inhabitants work for the tourist industry.

And the episode last night was one of the best ever.  In my opinion.
